About The Role
The Project Manager is the "fixer." You are responsible for the physical execution of our client’s mandates. When a team of geologists lands at Egal International Airport, you are the reason their transport is waiting, their permits are stamped, and their security escort is ready. You thrive in chaotic environments and are a master of logistics, negotiation, and contingency planning.
Daily Required Tasks
Logistics Coordination: Plan and execute complex itineraries for client site visits, including 4x4 vehicle rental, fuel supply, and accommodation in remote areas.
Security Liaison: Interface directly with the SPU (Special Protection Unit) commanders to secure travel permits and armed escorts for all field operations.
Government Administration: Physically walk documents through Ministry offices to obtain signatures, stamps, and approvals for licenses and visas.
Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with local suppliers (drilling crews, construction teams, camp suppliers) and ensure quality control.
Crisis Response: Serve as the 24/7 point of contact for clients in-country, resolving issues ranging from vehicle breakdowns to customs delays at Berbera Port.
What We're Looking For
Experience :
5+ years in Operations, Logistics, or Project Management, ideally in the NGO, Construction, or Oil & Gas sectors.
Field Experience: You are comfortable working outside the office and traveling to remote field sites.
Network: You have an existing "rolodex" of reliable fixers, drivers, and mid-level government administrators in Hargeisa.
Soft Skills: Tough negotiation skills paired with the patience to navigate bureaucracy.
Language: Fluent in Somali and English.
